Charity Hope Valentine who, despite her job at a seedy dime-a-dance joint, is an incurable optimist. Charity never stops looking for true love but never seems to look for it in the right places. This upbeat musical boasts many well known musical theatre staples such as: Big Spender, If They Could See Me Now, The Rhythm of Life, and I Love to Cry at Weddings! The original Broadway prouction starred Gwen Verdon and was later made in to a movie starring Shirley MacLaine, directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse.
