You Can't Take It With You

Mar. 21-23, 1986

Directed by Ted Lindseth

The Sycamores seem to be an eccentric but delightful family with one daughter, Alice, who seems to be more normal. In contrast, Alice's boss's family, the Kirbys, seem to be unhappy. Tony Kirby falls in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Sycamore house on the wrong evening. Mr. and Mrs. Kirby are shocked to be eating cheap food and indicate to Alice that marriage with Tony is out of the question. The Sycamores find it hard to realize Alice's view that she can't marry Tony because of her odd family. Tony knows the Sycamores live the right way with love and care for each other. In the end, Mr. Kirby is converted to the happy madness of the Sycamores particularly since he happens in during a visit by the ex-Grand Duchess of Russia, Olga Katrina, who is currently earning her living as a waitress.
